DIY Summer Crafts
When you live on a tropical island that gets sunshine all year round, you embrace it with beach parties, barbecues and everything tropicana!
With 365 days of summer in sunny Singapore, read on to see how you can bring a touch of tropical fun to your parties or interior with these simple DIY crafts.
Snow globes - not what you'd expect to DIY this summer, so give yours a little tropical twist with palm trees, flamingos and glittery confetti in a mason jar.
Glue your selected figurines down onto the inside of the lid of a mason jar, fill your jar almost to the top with water, and then add a pinch of glitter and a couple drops of glycerin to make the glitter float. Screw your lid back onto the jar and voila!
If you absolutely love flamingos, take a look at our Flamingo Flavour wallpaper - they work great as backing on your bookshelf or drawers.
Have a bunch of plain white tea towels lying around? Give them a summery makeover with this wonderful watercolour effect that's so easy to recreate.
Pick your paint colour of choice and soak your paint brush till it picks up the colour. Run lines across your napkins and smudge what you need to get the effect. These towels go well with brass cutlery like the Belgravia Cutlery Set to mix.
If juicy tropical fruit's your thing, stamping them using sponges that are cut to shape on your floor mats or tea towels using acrylic paint works brilliantly for dull boring welcome mats.
You can also get that same effect in small rooms or bathroom walls with our Tutti Fruity WallStickers by Jimmy Cricket with no fuss.
If you like a little more ambience, get your glue guns ready for this Pineapple Table Lamp made of disposable plastic spoons. Yes, plastic spoons! See how you can recreate this lamp here.
Happy summer crafting!
