Interior Trends to look out for in 2017

A fresh near year is upon us and as Greek philosopher Heraclitus once said, "Change is the only constant in life", and we couldn't agree more!

As we move forward and embrace change, here's a look at upcoming new trends to look out for in 2017.

PANTONE'S GREENERY

We're green with envy over Pantone's colour of 2017 - Greenery, that exudes a lovely shade of tropical goodness, best associated with beach vacations and relaxing picturesque scenery.

A great colour to use as a feature wall, try matching this shade with a luxurious velvet upholstered sofa or rattan lounge chair, shiny metallics like gold or a brass lamp to blend.

TERRACOTTA BLUSH

Can't get enough of copper, rose gold and concrete? Introducing the soothing shade of terracotta, mostly seen as the default planter pot for your plants. We're expecting to see more of this colour with a blend of metallics to amp up the elegance factor.

ARTISANAL WEAVES

Handcrafted and made with love is the key factor here, and we're expecting to see lots of weaved homeware making a bigger impact in 2017. With beautifully crafted patterns and textures, look out for more artisanal pieces that explores and pushes the boundary of patterns and techniques.

TERRAZZO PERFECTO

Moving on from marble and granite, the dynamic terrazzo is making a grand comeback in 2017. This beautiful man-made compressed stone works in every corner of your space with stunning results!

Great for adding sparkle and texture to your bathroom walls or vanity tops, floor, feature walls, decor vases and so much more, we're excited to see more of this versatile stone material applied to the world of interiors.

ART DECO INFLUENCE

It's no surprise art deco as an architectural influence still captures the hearts of many, and we're anticipating 2017 to be the year where we'll be seeing much more of it in a form of decorative accessories.

Apart from the usual quatrefoil details, tufted cushions and classical trimmings, we're expecting to see cleaner and more defined lines using materials that fuse seamlessly with modern interiors.

Think antique mirrors for texture and visual depth, dark wood floors or trimmings on accessories that anchor spaces, velvet upholstery and perhaps a tiny bit of embellishments to your cushion covers and decor for that tasteful sparkle.

MINERAL GREY & BISCUIT BROWN

For those who are not ready to embrace drastic changes to your spaces, don't you worry. The shade of neutral grey and browns are a hot topic of 2017, and a great way to give your interiors an update without going overboard.

Try experimenting with textures, like a weave pattern or grey frame trimmings, or a soft, delicious shade of poised taupe for a warm, and refreshing look.

2017 is all about starting afresh and embracing change, so go forth and explore and give your spaces that stylish touch you've always wanted for yourself. Happy new year!
